Meet Karen Still

Raleigh Homes Realty is pleased to announce that Karen Still, Realtor, Broker, has joined our growing company. Karen has lived, worked, and played in the Triangle area since 1992, where she also raised her three daughters. She is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and a Gulf War Veteran who served with the Tennessee Air National Guard and the US Air Force. During a 36-year career in the professional liability insurance claims business, she assisted physicians, hospitals, and health care professionals with medical malpractice claims.

Karen has redirected her professional career focus to real estate to continue to assist clients in finding their “happy place.” Her many years of legal and insurance expertise and her strong negotiating skills provide a solid base for her real estate business.

Springtime in Historic Oakwood

Historic Oakwood, a Victorian neighborhood in Downtown Raleigh, is an especially beautiful place in the spring. Let’s take a walk and see what’s blooming!

Buying Student Housing is the Smart Choice

Even though spring has just arrived, now is the time for Raleigh college students to start making plans for where they’re going to live this fall. Buying makes so much more sense than renting in our hot real estate market. The condos and townhome communities that are popular with students at our local colleges and universities are selling fast and increasing in value each year.

Realtors Richard Callahan and Ron Parent share some of the many reasons why:

Our top reasons for buying vs. renting:

  • Interest rates are low
  • Rental rates are rising
  • Rent rooms to your child’s friends to cover your mortgage payment
  • Build a credit history if you put the property in your child’s name
  • Build responsibility as a homeowner and act as a landlord
  • Build equity
  • Alternative to stock market investing
